Parsa wildlife reserve is located to the east of the Royal Chitwan National Park. It is spread over 499 sq.km of hills and flatlands and has a sub-tropical monsoon climate. The forest are predominantly sal, with other species like chir pine, sisso and khair and grasslands making up the rest. This reserve has tigers, leopard. Sloth bear, wild dogs, deer, blue bull, hog deer and barking deer. It is also home to over 300 species of birds, including the endangered giant hornbill and the Bengal florican. Snakes found are cobras, kraits, and python. October-March is just right for a visit. Activities includes safaris on elephant back and jeep and jungle walks.
The Royal Chitwan National Park is one of the world's most enchanting jungles. You will discover towering trees and twisting vines, rhino and elephant, crocodile, python and deer brilliantly colored birds and if you are fortunate the rare Royal Bengal Tiger.
Accomodation in Chitwan is rustic and but luxurious, the jungle Bungalows are cozy and fitted with all you need, including hot water. Your 2 night, 3 day stay is packed with activities as you experience canoe rides, elephant rides through dense jungle, nature walks where you may come closer than you would like to a rhino and peaceful bird watching in the early morning. The evenings are relaxed as you watch the Tharu people perform their ancient stick dance. All your activities are well organized so all you need to do is enjoy your safari.
