The district of Dolpa in far north-west remote region of Nepal that has been bypass by development and, until recently by tourism. Although a few anthropologists and geographers had explored the region, the entire district was closed to trekkers until 1989 when the southern part of Dolpo was opened to organized trekking groups. There are no teahouses along the route to Dolpo. It is far better off in Dolpo with a fully equipped trek.
Nepal has been closed to trekkers and climbers since 1973. However, the area between Jumla and Dhorpatan has since been opened by the Nepalese authorities. A 31 day trek between Pokhara and Jumla is known possible covering places like Tichurong, Tarap Valley, Phokasundo Lake and Kagmara La. Shey-Phoksundo National Park, the largest and most recently protected area in Nepal, is accessible and can be combined with a trip to Rara Lake National Park. In addition, areas of upper Dolpa Jomsom to Shey Gompa have been opened for a limited number of organized treks.

Day 23/24: Free day in Kathmandu,
Day 25: Transfer to the airport for final departure.
